April Mug: Eastern Towhee [PRE-ORDER]

Introducing the Mug of the Month for April: The Eastern Towhee! 

This mug is a part of my series celebrating one new bird every month this year. They are only available as pre-orders and when they're gone they're gone. I want to focus on making a wider variety of birds this year so I may not revisit this bird again, or at least not for a while. Each month will celebrate and feature a bird that is somewhat relevant to the time of the year as well. You'll receive a free sticker featuring the bird of the month with your pre-order, too!

Eastern Towhees have that distinctive "drink your tea" bird song. I've always loved hearing their calls and I've noticed I tend to hear them more in the spring than any other time of the year. I've noticed I'm more likely to hear them rather than see them, but when I do see them it's always a treat. Kind of blue, kind of black, with a red-orange and white chest, these birds have become one of my favorites recently. 

Measures about 3.75 inches tall, 5 inches wide and holds approximately 16 fl oz. 

THIS IS A PRE-ORDER. Your mug will be made especially just for you and will take approximately 4-8 weeks to complete. Each mug is wheel thrown and individually hand drawn and painted and fired in a kiln twice. The piece you receive may look slightly different than the piece shown as a sample, though I try my best to make it match as best as I can. 

This piece is food and microwave safe. Though it is dishwasher safe (and I use the dishwasher for the pieces I keep), hand washing your ceramic pot is always the best way to prolong the life of your handmade piece, as some detergents can be extremely harsh. If you use the dishwasher, I recommend a natural and gentle detergent to help prolong the life of your piece.
